Head of Communications for Charterhouse, organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), George Quaye, has hinted he will disclose the names of artistes who attempt to offer bribes for awards at the right time.
Mr. Quaye had said on the award-winning show ‘Pundits’ last week that gospel artistes are in the majority of people who attempt to offer him bribe as an executive of the award scheme.
He also asserted that some gospel artists also engineer ways to thwart the efforts of other gospel artists who gain nominations in the scheme, an assertion that was corroborated by accomplished music producer, Kwasi Ernest, who was a panel member on the show.
Mr Quaye in a press statement released on Thursday, January 26, admitted that his “careless statement” was wrong.
He promised never to make such statement again.
But in an interview on Kasapa 102.5FM, Mr. Quaye hinted that should he resign or seizes to be the spokesperson for Charterhouse, he wouldn’t hesitate to mention names of musicians who were involved in the bribery allegation.
“If in future I resign from Charterhouse or I stop speaking for the VGMA, I’ll mention those names and if someone can also facilitate for me be sacked by Charterhouse, I’ll name those artistes”.
