R2Bees seals deal with Universal Music Group

A Ghanaian hip-hop and hiplife duo, R2Bees, has signed a deal with International music distribution label, Universal Music Group.

CEO of the group, Omar Sterling disclosed on his Twitter page that their long-awaited third studio album, dubbed “Site 15” that was supposed to be released earlier has been pushed back a few weeks.

“We’ve just finalized a deal with Universal for our Album SITE 15, this has caused the album to be pushed back a few weeks. We are sorry for the delay.” , he tweeted.

R2Bees which is made up of Omar Sterling (Paedae), a rapper and Mugeez, a vocalist, have won several awards and international nominations including the BET nominations in 2013.

They have produced hit songs like ‘Plantain chips’, ‘Over’, ‘Lobi’, ‘life’ and the current hit-making waves in the country, ‘We Dey Vibe’.

Universal Music Group, also known as UMG Recordings Inc is an American global music corporation which is a subsidiary of the French media conglomerate Vivendi.

Universal Music Group before signing R2Bees precedes similar singing with some Ghanaians including Stonebwoy and Cina Soul.
