It’s undisputed fact that Rev Obofour is a great fan of Shatta Wale as he normally rides on Wale’s tunes during deliverance service in his Anointed Palace Church.
Although most people have questioned the preacher for singing along profane songs in God’s temple. But according to the man of God, songs of Shatta Wale are far better than most gospel songs in Ghana.
To him, the songs Ghanaians tag as gospels are boring comparably to Wale’s own. He further added that Shatta Wale is the nation’s preacher because he touches on relevant issues that gospel songs fail to address.
“We need songs that will make one dance; songs that will make congregation burn calories so they don’t get knocked down by stroke. It’s only Shatta’s songs that have all these qualities like his Taken Over”, Rev Obofour said.
More importantly, Rev Obofour refuted claims that some songs are profane whiles others are gospel. According to him, the message in every song is more important adding that music without a message can’t be classified as music.
“Who is a gospel artiste? The message in the song is the most important thing. Music without a message isn’t music. Don’t forget that dances performed in the clubs are also right here in church,” Rev Obofour revealed.
